"It's not about gender," says Sharvari regarding male dominance in the film industry.

New Delhi, October 15: Actor Sharvari recently discussed her journey in the film industry, which includes her early days as an assistant director and her highly anticipated role in Yash Raj Films' upcoming spy thriller, "Alpha." She also shared her thoughts on male dominance in cinema.

In an interview, the "Munjya" actor reflected on her initial experiences on set, saying, "My first role was as an assistant director. I started with 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2' and then worked on 'Bajirao Mastani' and assisted on 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.' My first exposure to filmmaking was in that capacity, and I learned a lot behind the camera, which has shaped my career today."

Sharvari made her film debut in the 2021 crime comedy "Bunty Aur Babli 2," produced by Yash Raj Films, alongside Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, and Siddhant Chaturvedi. She credits Aditya Chopra as a significant mentor in her career. "I debuted with Yash Raj Films, and Adi sir has always been my guide. His advice is invaluable whenever I face challenges," she stated.

Regarding male dominance in the film industry, she expressed, "It’s really not about being male or female. It’s about what the film needs and how the characters are crafted. What matters is the script's demands, and when those are met, that’s when audiences truly connect."

Sharvari's excitement for her upcoming film "Alpha," co-starring Alia Bhatt, is evident. "It's a first-of-its-kind film, part of the Yash Raj spy universe, featuring two women in incredible action sequences. It's definitely thrilling," she shared.

When asked about the impact of audience feedback on her role choices, Sharvari emphasized her passion for storytelling. "For me, what matters is when a script resonates with me. If I'm excited to be part of something for several months, that’s what I look forward to," she explained.

Since her debut in the Prime Video series "The Forgotten Army" in 2020, Sharvari has received positive attention for her performances in projects like "Munjya" and "Maharaj." Her guest appearance in "Maharaj" was well-received, and she recently starred in the action film "Vedaa" alongside John Abraham.

"Alpha," directed by Shiv Rawail, represents a notable shift for Yash Raj Films, which has typically focused on male-centric action narratives. The studio has generated considerable excitement with a title reveal video that emphasizes the film's motto: "The first letter of the Greek alphabet and the motto of our program... first, fastest, bravest. Look closely; every city has a jungle, and in the jungle, ALPHA will always reign!"

The involvement of Alia Bhatt alongside Sharvari adds to the anticipation surrounding this project.
