Shilpa Shetty and Jackie Shroff post special messages for National Sports Day

Mumbai, August 29: On National Sports Day, August 29, various celebrities including Shilpa Shetty and Jackie Shroff took to social media to honor and appreciate athletes.

Shilpa Shetty shared an Instagram story with a picture and a message: "Happy National Sports Day. Sports isn't just about winning; it's about celebrating our bodies, our minds, and our spirit. This Sports Day, let's inspire each other to reach new heights and achieve our goals."

Jackie Shroff posted a video showcasing the achievements of Indian athletes at the Paris Olympics 2024. He captioned the video, "Honoring our Indian Athletes at the Olympics."

India concluded its Paris Olympics campaign with six medals—five bronze and one silver. Key highlights include Manu Bhaker’s bronze in the women’s 10m Air pistol, making her the first Indian woman shooter to win an Olympic medal; Sarabjot Singh and Bhaker’s bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event; Swapnil Kusale’s bronze in the men’s 50m rifle 3P; Neeraj Chopra’s silver in men’s javelin throw; the Indian men’s hockey team securing back-to-back bronze medals; and Aman Sehrawat winning bronze in wrestling.

Rakul Preet Singh also celebrated the day by posting a video of her golf sessions on Instagram, with the caption: "Bahar jao, khelo koodu. Happy National Sports Day."

National Sports Day is observed annually on August 29 to honor hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand and celebrate the contributions of sports icons who have brought international recognition to the country.
